Hartford Porcelain Veneers

A porcelain veneer held in a pair of calipersVeneers are thin layers of porcelain that are placed directly over your teeth to give you a more attractive smile. The veneer for each tooth is individually shaped and crafted to achieve an artistic result that will help you look your most beautiful.

Who’s a Candidate for Veneers?

If you have healthy teeth that need some aesthetic help, porcelain veneers can offer you a brilliant new smile in only a few appointments. Veneers are excellent for fixing:

  • Chips
  • Stains
  • Gaps
  • Teeth that have an unattractive shape

In addition, porcelain veneers can dramatically affect your whole appearance, making you look younger and healthier.

If only one or two teeth have cosmetic problems, Dr. Michalski can repair them with other techniques, like dental bonding. But if many of your teeth need repair, veneers are an excellent way to fix them all at the same time.

Veneers are the only solution for some stains, such as those from tetracycline. Stains like these are deep in the tooth and will show through with dental methods like bleaching and bonding. Dr. Michalski will design veneers with an attractive new color that complements your skin and hair. The veneers will look as translucent and nuanced as natural teeth, but they will be opaque to block the stains from showing through.

Designing Your Smile Makeover

When Dr. Michalski designs your porcelain veneers, he’ll consider the shape of your face, your age, and your personal image. You can bring pictures of smiles that you like to your initial consultation. Then, our staff will take photos of your current smile, and you and the doctor will talk about your options. Depending on the shape of the teeth, your new smile can make you look more youthful or more sophisticated.

Getting Porcelain Veneers

After your initial consultation, you will have another appointment with Dr. Michalski. If tooth preparation is required for your case, he will remove a tiny amount of enamel from your teeth to allow space for the veneers. He’ll also make an impression of your teeth. From this impression, he will create temporary veneers for you to wear. You’ll see how they feel when you eat and talk, and you can really examine your new smile. Then, you’ll come back to the office and Dr. Michalski will make any necessary adjustments until you love the it.

When your new smile is perfect, Dr. Michalski will send an impression of it to his laboratory. He works with a Master Ceramic Technician to ensure your veneers mimic the natural translucency, color gradient, and sparkle of healthy teeth.

At your next appointment, Dr. Michalski will place the finished porcelain veneers in your mouth with try-in paste. That gives you a chance to see precisely how they will look when they’re permanently bonded to your teeth. Dr. Michalski won’t bond your new smile unless you absolutely love it. That is our Beautiful Smile Guarantee.

Caring for Your New Smile

Porcelain is more resistant to stains and damage than natural tooth enamel, so your new veneers can last for 10 to 20 years with good care. That means coming in for regular cleanings and paying special attention to brushing and flossing, especially at the margin, where the porcelain meets the gum.

Porcelain veneers give you a complete smile makeover, hiding any flaws in your teeth and dramatically improving your overall appearance. Radiant Smiles of Rocky Hill offers a beautiful smile guarantee to assure you that you’ll be thrilled with your new look. Dr. Michalski is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has completed advanced training in restorative and cosmetic techniques. Here is one example of his work:
