Rocky Hill Emergency Dentist

If you have a dental emergency, we will see you the same day, if possible, during our normal office hours. See our hours near the bottom of this page. At Radiant Smiles of Rocky Hill, our priority is your comfort. We will relieve your pain during your visit and give you a treatment plan to finish the work later.

Emergency Dentist for Toothaches

Severe toothaches are a common dental emergency. Frequently they’re caused by an infection in the pulp of the tooth. This infection makes the tooth pulp swell, but the tooth walls give that swelling nowhere to go. That’s why tooth infections are so excruciatingly painful.

Infections inside the tooth can spread to the gum, causing an abscess. An abscess looks like a swollen bump on your gum. It may leak fluid, leaving a bad taste in your mouth. Abscesses can be very painful, but they aren’t always. They can also form because of deep gum infections.emergency dentist illustration of a dental abscess

Infections that spread from teeth and gums to the jaw bone and beyond can lead to systemic infections. In worst-case scenarios, they can be life-threatening. So even if you can push through the pain, it’s still best for you to see the dentist. We promise we won’t make you feel bad about your teeth. Dental fear is common and a big contributor to poor oral health. At Radiant Smiles of Rocky Hill, we want you to feel good every time you visit.

Other Dental Emergencies

An infection isn’t the only reason to see an emergency dentist. Dr. Michalski also treats:

  • Teeth that are cracked
  • Teeth broken by trauma
  • Loose crowns and bridges

If you’ve had a tooth knocked out due to an accident, such as a fall, Dr. Michalski may be able to save it. First, you’ll need to protect your tooth. Wrap it in a moist towel or put it in a cup of slightly warm milk. Call us immediately. If you can get here within half an hour, we may be able to put the tooth back in its original position.

Emergency Sedation Dentist

Anxious patients are more likely to have dental emergencies because they worry about receiving routine dental care. Dr. Michalski understands, and he enjoys seeing fearful patients and alleviating their worries about visiting the dentist. Often, patients with dental fear have had bad experiences in the past, such as a dentista patient in pain who needs an emergency dentist who caused them pain. Dr. Michalski wants you to feel comfortable, and he offers sedation so you won’t remember your dental treatment. If you’re nervous about seeing a dentist during an emergency, you should know that you’re not alone.
